Membership and Outreach

Dear Friends,

Shana Tova!

I want to welcome you to the Reform Temple of Putnam Valley. We are a family-oriented congregation serving Putnam and Northern Westchester, particularly sensitive to the varied needs of members: individuals raised in various Jewish traditions, Jews-by-choice and non-Jewish members of congregants' families. Our warm atmosphere encourages newcomers to share in all aspects of temple life. We are here for you to nurture your religion, your history, your children’s Jewish education, life cycle events, friendships, social action and knowledge. We are there for you when the holidays arrive, when you celebrate bar and bat mitzvot, births and weddings. And we are there for you as well when you mourn the loss of a loved one and can take comfort in the warmth and care and love of our Temple family. We are also very proud of our commitment to the community, most notably with our involvement as co-runners of the Putnam Valley Food Pantry.

Come meet Rabbi Allen Darnov, get to know our families, visit our Hebrew School, enjoy our events. Services are held each Friday evening at 8 pm. A family-friendly service (with our Rabbi-turned-storyteller) is held on the first Friday of each month, and an additional service for young people -- our Tot Shabbat service -- is held the third Friday of each month at 7 pm. All services are followed by an Oneg Shabbat in our social hall. Watch for our Hannukah Hootenanny, Purim Festival, Late Summer Open House, Coffee House Evening (showcasing our amazing temple talent), Sisterhood and Men’s Club Events, Social Outreach and more. Join us for the blowing of the shofar: we always provide complimentary High Holy Day tickets to first time guests.

I hope to have the chance to speak with you in person or on the phone to answer any questions you may have, and to welcome you to our temple. Feel free to reach me by phone or by email.

Warmest Regards,
